Interface family matters

eDP and LVDS describe different display interface families. A matching decision must consider more than the connector's appearance: pin assignment, signal expectations, power requirements and cable routing all matter.

Record the full specification

Use the exact original model whenever possible. Confirm connector family, pin count, connector position, resolution and mechanical details before considering an alternative.

Avoid visual assumptions

Two panels can share a size and resolution while requiring different interfaces or mounting arrangements. Final compatibility should be verified against approved technical information.
